100% scam.

There is no buyer.

There is only a scammer trying to steal your xbox360.

The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses and will demand you immediately send your xbox360 before the transfer is complete. "Funds available" is NOT the same as "money transferred". An international bank transfer can take WEEKS to clear completely.

Your xbox360 won't work with that country's electricity and will cost someone more than it is worth to ship in overseas.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.

You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

You are about to get scammed....

First off why would somebody buy a used appliance from England when the same can be bought in their country cheaper? (not to mention that your Xbox won't work or even be able to plug into an electrical outlet in Malaysia).

By the time this person does a wire transfer and pays for the wire, the exchange rate, etc. etc. and then has to hope that you decide to spend the extra in shipping fees and actually send the item... it simply does not make any sense.

They are not after the X-box but after your identity and bank account number.

Why would anyone in Malaysia buy a used Xbox from someone in another country when new Xbox's are already cheaper in Asia? And it's going to cost you at least 100 to send it with tracking details and insurance. Plus they have a different voltage in Malaysia

NEVER give your bank account number or sort code to anyone you have never met unless you want your account cleaned out. Same with Paypal - they will send you a phishing email saying that money has been sent but you need to click on the link to verify the transaction, then you log in and you just gave your details to a scammer

DO NOT ship internationally for any reason if you don't know this person

I used to hate them, but not since I got Qantas club membership free through work. Now I love it!

Delays? No problem, I'll just have a nap, enjoy some free food and drinks, maybe even have a shower. So much more comfortable than the regular airport seating areas.

Worth every penny that I didn't spend...

I feel the same way you do, and airports and air travel in general are some of the reasons why I never travel voluntarily. I love to fly in a plane, but unfortunately that's only a small part of traveling by air, and every other part of air travel is a nightmare. The short period I spend in the air (the best parts being take-off and landing) does not justify the hours and hours of hassle required to enjoy it.

You should never allow anything to ruin your holiday! It is very precious. When things get too sh1tty have a sense of humour about it. When you are bored waiting for boarding, read a book or magazine or better yet a guide of the place you are about to visit. Bring your laptop with you loaded with your favorite music, movies and series.

The worst experience I have ever had was in the "international" airport of Quito, Ecuador. I was flying from Amsterdam with KLM and during landing the aircraft stopped 20 meters before a wall and people's houses! I could grab their laundry that was drying in the sun if I wanted, it was that close!
The runway was just tiny for a Boeing 737 had I known it I would have written my will on the pillow they gave me during the flight.

We waited 2 hours to get through migration, one of them under the sun of the equator! I was incredibly dizzy 'cause of the altitude and I desperately wanted to go to the loo.
After we were done with migration I ran to the toilets to discover that they are out of order and flooded! I hopped like a frog on the water to try to use them anyway, I realize it's impossible and I went back!
I waited for my luggage for another 2 hours, I waited and waited until the airport was almost empty and the belt stopped! Mine, my friend's and 9 more people's luggage had stayed in Amsterdam! I thought this is as close as it gets to experiencing what Hell feels like...
The only employee I could find that could speak a few english preffered to hit on me than help me! Everything was going so wrong that it became ridiculous!
At that point me and my friend started laughing and placing bets what will go wrong next. Turned out nothing more did we had an amazing holiday in Ecuador and got our luggage delivered to our hotel 2 days later with money compensation from KLM.

Yeap, you could say that this was a horrific experience but when we came home we were the ones with the story :)
