Question by windwalker296: Uni fees New Zealand and Australia?
Hi, I am a teacher and considering moving my family to NZ second half this year/start of next.
My daughter wants to go to Uni. She has been accepted to one in UK. But if we are going not sure about this.
If we dont go until start of next year could she transfer “credits” fm uk uni to a NZ or Aussie one?

Secondly here in UK she can get a student loan for fees. I think I saw if you live in NZ for more than 6 months you can apply for student loan there also. Is this right, what about Australia?

What sort of prices are you talking for Uni Fees in these countries on average?

Best answer:

Answer by Sunny Boy
I moved to australia as an international student, and to be honest there arent many loan options here for international students. The loan offer is only for the locals, i doubt they give it to international students, cuz they assume that international students are supposed to be self-financed. I did masters degree in melbourne, and paid the whole fee myself. I struggled to get a loan. Getting a personal loan from a bank or money lenders is an option, but you might end up paying alot of interest on that kinda loan.

But if you are migrating to australia its a different story. Being a permanent resident or citizen, the government gives student a study loan which is called HECS. Students can pay it back to the govt afterwards when they finish education and starts earning.

Uni fees really depends on the course and its duration.
Graduate (bachelor) degrees are usually 3 to 4 years and could cost from AU$ 13000 to AU$ 25000 a year. (That is for international students. Fees for locals is a lil less).
Post-graduate (masters) degree has almost the same fee structure but their duration is 1.5 to 2 years.

Question by : How easy is it to send international bank wires? Is it hassle free?
I want to accept payments in USD, CAD, GBP, and EURO so I thought of getting a multicurrency bank account. Can my customers simply go online into their accounts and make international wire transfers through their banks? That sounds pretty hassle free to me if they can do that.

Originally I was going to accept credit cards, but because my business requires deposits for building materials before the project can even be started this can cost me DEARLY if a theif tries to do a chargeback after the deposit has been used to buy the materials. So I’d rather decrease the possibility of fraud by using bank wires, but I know customers will only do it if it’s hassle free and they can do it at home.

Best answer:

Answer by Steve B
Doing international bank transfers (“SWIFT”) costs the average Brit. £25 a time .. only ‘in country’ (BACS) transfers are ‘free’.

When purchasing from the States, I typically use PayPal (it’s ‘hassle free’) for ebay (or anyone I have done business with before).

Otherwise I use a Credit Card. It’s a right pain, especially these days due to the massive amount of ‘Card Holder Not Present’ Fraud (for example, it’s typically impossible to specify a delivery address that is not the same as the address registered to the card holder) HOWEVER with Credit Card, so long as the payment is over £100, the Card Issuer is ‘jointly liable’ for the transaction if anything goes wrong & I know I can get my money back (lets be honest = builders are going bankrupt almost as fast as the smaller banks time right now).

Question by darcybx: I need help with item I am selling?
Okay so here the problem, I am selling my xbox 360 to a person that lives in Malaysia. Now the person that buying it said he send the money to my paypal but I said I don’t have paypal so I said can you do bank transfer. He said yes so this involves me giving my account and sort code number of my bank. I have asked him loads of questions and he said he send money before I post it so it’s in my bank before I ship item over there. Do you think this is a scam? can he take my money using my bank and sort code number?

Waiting around for hours, rubbish facilities, very uncomfortable seats, dragging your stuff around, crummy transfer buses, etc etc. Now they are going to charge for dropping some-one off or picking them up (and Ryan-air charging for WC use on their planes !). I like planes but every holiday I have been on has begun and ended with a s**t day at a UK airport.
My stories.. Me (one parent family) and two kids driving at 2 am for a 6 am flight to Greece from Manchester – 5 hour delay and nothing opened till 9 am. Flight from Corfu to Manchester arrived one hour late missing the train connection – a night on Manchester airport with everything shut.
Long lines of people waiting to check in and we were only going Jersey.
No matter how expensive your holiday is, the airports are totally ‘economy’.

Best answer:

Answer by Dale Q
I know the airport may be shi*ty but I love it!

Question by agaga: Are GM food poisonous to Mankind?
If Yes, how does it affect the body?

Best answer:

Answer by TJ Baltimore
In and of themselves, no.

Genetic modification uses the same tools that nature uses to increase food production, nutrition, etc. In other words, hopefully it will improve the human standard of living.

The selective breeding, restrictive endonucleases, and other tools and technologies which are used to create GM foods have been used by viruses for billions of years and have already contributed to human evolution. Look up “horizontal gene transfer.” Genetic engineering uses these tools in a more controlled and hypothetically safer environment.

Of course anything can harm you, even too much water–it’s called drowning–and so there needs to be extensive testing of GM foods before they are publicly available. Can we trust the FDA to perform sufficiently extensive testing? I personally feel that we can rely on nominally disinterested FDA testing compared to the companies themselves which developed the GM foods and have profits at stake. But that wasn’t your question.

Another question that you didn’t ask: are companies like Monsanto ethical for created GM foods which cannot produce seeds, therefore making farmer come back again and again to buy seeds, often driving the farmers to poverty and suicide? Especially when they work with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund as the sole seed-providers to farmers struggling and dying in third-world countries?

When you get off the flight is it signposted in English? Is it easy to find?

Best answer:

Answer by Dinkar A
Yes, There are english as well as Hindi signposts. It is easy to find. As far as I remember it is on the right side once you come out of custom clearance gate. (But not sure)

Ask any airport official or security personnel. They will know english and will be able to direct you.
Buses run every 20/30 mins and most likely you will find other people waiting as well.

Take care

An example of when such a money transfer is needed is if a person is actually moving to another country. They might be doing so permanently or it could be for a short term. Nevertheless, they need to make arrangements in the new county including renting or purchasing property. Often it is best to handle all of these issues before a person moves and a transfer is the best choice.

Therefore, finding the best service is vital. There are many options and research is needed in the decision process. Detailed reports on these services are available and should be a company that has been in business a few years or longer. There are several options for international money transfer. Another issue is that come countries have limits on them and added fees.

It is vital to research every option to decide what is right for the every individual. A certain concern is currency rate changes as well as having stranger deals with a person’s life savings, in some cases, and sending it to a foreign area.
